Through folktales, fairytales, and other genres we will discover a new storytelling adventure that entails a themed creative art project, and a vocal, theatrical or movement performance. Come runaway with us as we rediscover the joy of books.  Warning, uncontrollable laughing, dress up, and face painting may be involved.

Haggerty Neighborhood Council

Hip Hop and Step combined in this high-energy class that will combine elements of jazz, hip hop, precise foot movements, and hand clapping together with the latest beats in pop music. We will explore dance through different rhythms, dynamics, and focus while we create rhythm patterns that challenge us. This class begins with a creative warm up, stretching, cardio, step and ends with a fun combination.

Students will learn authentic rhythms from West Africa and the Caribbean. They will play West African drums and other percussion instruments. The class will also give students a fun opportunity to create their own rhythms.
